    sorgono spontanee altre domande…..
    ….Quando la passione incontra l’idea,
quando la logistica si è fatta dea,
quando la passione la incontra è
    amore ai tempi dell’ikea…

Patricia Urquiola is a Spanish architect based in Milan, she stands out for the original designs of objects and furniture that she produces for the best and most important international firms. The designer of some of the most emblematic pieces in the current range, she created the Maia collection, one of her most characteristic works, for Kettal. AD Architecture Design Award 2008.

“The piece I identify with most is the Relax armchair. I like finding the most suitable material for each project. Working on technologically developed materials using craft techniques, or using an industrial process on a material from the past.”

    Luca Gnizio design
ForstreetFUN is a chair made from road-surfacing asphalt. Its message is to highlight various aspects of contemporary lifestyle, including the unchecked use of motor vehicles and the relative CO2 emissions which accumulate in the atmosphere with serious consequences to the health of both the environment and humans. Other contributions to the dangerously high levels of CO2 are the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, the opening of new wells and new “cathedrals” dedicated to progress and the devastating effects on the planet’s ecosystems. We must all act now together to save the Earth! Colour the way, colour your life!
Constructed entirely from recycled materials.
Iron bars recovered from reinforced concrete are used for the main structure.
Steel sheeting from metal cabinets form the seat and back of the chair.
A layer of asphalt – recovered from road resurfacing – lines the seat and back.
A coat of transparent water paint protects clothing from staining.
Rubber tips from recycled walking sticks are used for the chair leg feet.

    HIKO

has been created from the collaboration of the designer Enzo Berti and FLAI: a new brand of items without time, with a strong character, out of the fashion and market’s influence. A real classic. The choise of ash and all the other natural finishing, gives a nordic style, but balanced as well with an italian rationalist taste, free from all decorative solution. The result is a pure and essential concept, which discovers and reinterprets the basic topics of design: chairs, tables, accessories and innovative systems of containment.
